La chivatur
Las chivas también conocidas como “buses escolares” son
autobuses típicos de Colombia adaptados en forma artesanal para el trasporte público
rural pensando especialmente en la montañosa geografía de la región andina de
este país. Se caracterizan por su gran colorido, predominando el amarillo, azul
y rojo colores de la bandera nacional de Colombia.
Las chivas se construyen sobre un chasis normal de camión,
organizando hileras de bancas anchas de madera, que van de un costado a otro y
en donde se acomodan tanto personas como animales equipajes o mercancías. Un
costado del bus esta serrado y la entrada se realiza solo por el otro costado.
En la parte trasera de la chiva se cuenta con una escalera que conduce a una
plataforma superior con una parrilla que se usa como bodega de equipaje, los
colores de estos vehículos son vivos en ocasiones las blancas palomas de la paz
son dibujadas en sus carrocerías, estos vehículos son representativas del área
andina.
